J Lo’s “Halftime” Premiere Gown Features Cutouts and Sheer Panels at Every Turn

Jennifer Lopez is back on the red carpet to celebrate her new Netflix documentary, “Halftime.” For the film’s debut at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8, she dressed in a black velvet gown featuring sheer mesh panels at every turn, including across the chest, down the sides, and on her sleeves. The Tom Ford creation might have come with a high neck and floor-length skirt, but the dramatically placed paneling spoke to the star’s signature sultry style, which includes cutouts and plunging necklines. While a red carpet veteran, the multihyphenate never fails to impress with her eye-catching choices.
Styled by duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, Lopez accessorized with diamond drop earrings and a diamond triangle ring from Lorraine Schwartz, a black velvet clutch, and black stilettos with a sparkly heel. Of course, she was also wearing her unique green stone engagement ring from fiancé Ben Affleck. Lopez posed for photos at the United Palace in Washington Heights, where TFF premiered “Halftime,” which is close to where she grew up in the Bronx. Following the film’s debut, the singer-actor arrived at an after-party in an oversize white suit set that took us right back to her iconic rom-com “Maid in Manhattan.”
A few days prior, Lopez attended the MTV Movie and TV Awards, where she took home the Generation Award for her many contributions to film and TV. At the event, she wore a leather gown from Mônot with hip cutouts and a deep neckline. But her striking fashion isn’t limited to her red carpet looks: she also continues to create street style moments while shopping around LA and making press appearances.
Ahead, get a closer view at Lopez’s latest ensemble.
